The Fort Kochi police arrested a youth on the charge of raping a US-settled Indian national, at an accommodation unit in Fort Kochi. The arrested person has been identified as Althaf Hussain, 29, of Fort Kochi.

The victim and Althaf, who operates a homestay and a bike rental agency, were reportedly known to each other. The arrest was made based on a complaint filed by the woman. Althaf has been remanded, police sources said.
