A 22-year-old motorist was killed after hitting a median near Adyar on Wednesday (March 5, 2025).

A senior official of the City Traffic police said K. Gautam Hari was a resident of Shantiniketan Colony in Thoraipakkam and was working at a private hotel in Egmore. 

Mr. Hari was returning home on his two-wheeler after his work early on Wednesday and as he was proceeding on the Thiru Vi Ka bridge towards Adyar, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the median. The victim sustained severe injuries to his head and body and was killed on the spot, the police said. 

The traffic police recovered the body and sent it to Government Royapettah hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered.
