Chindi Varadarajulu was driven by a passion for food and a desire to introduce authentic Tamil cuisine to Canada, and she established Chutney Villa in downtown Vancouver. Her entrepreneurial spirit then led her to introduce Western comfort food to southern India. In 2017, Ms. Chindi founded Pumpkin Tales in Chennai and today it empowers a 30-member women-only team, having positively impacted the lives of over 100 women and their families. Receiving The Hindu Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award from Mona Kannan, Director of Naga Foods, and Raghuveer Srinivasan, Editor, businessline, she said that to share the room with many such inspiring women has been so special.
