Former Minister H.M. Revanna has been accused of assaulting a woman Congress party worker and hurling casteist abuses over a trivial row at Kumara Krupa Guest House on Monday.

Based on the complaint by Nandini Nagaraj, the High Grounds police have filed a non-cognizable report for further investigation. Ms. Nagaraj alleged that Mr. Revanna hurled abuses at her and assaulted her when she went to talk to him. The police issued a notice to the complainant to provide proof for her allegations.

She also shared with the police a video were Mr. Revanna is seen pushing the mobile phone while a video was being recorded. Meanwhile, Ms. Nagaraj approached the Karnataka State Commission for Women and lodged a complaint. Commission chairperson Nagalakshmi Choudhary said that she had asked the police to probe into the incident and submit a report.
