Filmmaker Pa. Ranjith on Saturday said there were increasing instances of atrocities against Dalits in the recent days, and asked whether the Chief Minister M.K. Stalin-led DMK government would acknowledge this. Reacting to Mr. Stalin’s ‘Ungalil Oruvan’ (one among you) post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Ranjith alleged that heinous caste-based atrocities were committed in Tamil Nadu without any hindrance. Mr. Ranjith also offered to submit a report, criticising the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department and legislators of reserved constituencies for being busy with other work.
