As a part of the trade facilitation measure, it has been decided to permit a member of trade and industry to meet the senior officers of the Department of Customs and GST on every working Wednesday without prior appointment, and voice their grievance.

A statement issued by Additional Commissioner M. Sreekanth on Friday said, in order to ensure effective use of such interactions, the visiting members were requested to bring a brief written summary of their grievance and specifically indicating with whom, or where the matter was held up. This would help in identifying the choke points and aid in quick resolution of the grievances.

Mr. Sreekanth urged all members of trade and industry associations to make use of this opportunity to bring in focus any pending issues with the department.
