The government has allocated the subject of Industrial Development, Trade and Commerce to A. Vikranth Raja IAS, after his reporting to duty in the Puducherry administration. He will hold the charge of Fire Service as Secretary to Government and the charge of Excise as Commissioner. He has also been appointed as Nodal Officer, Railway Projects, Managing Director, PIPDIC and Managing Director, PDL.

Mr. Raja had earlier served the Union Territory in different capacities, including as Secretary to the former Chief Minister, V. Narayanasamy, in the previous government.
