Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta has said that stern action would be taken against those who resort to cricket bettings in the State. He directed the police to keep a watch on betting app organisers and punters and appealed to students and youth not to indulge in bettings and spoil their lives.

Police have the details of the betting organisers and punters. Vigil has been stepped up to check online betting in the State, Mr. Gupta said in a statement on Sunday.

The DGP directed the police to keep a vigil on hotels, guesthouses and other vulnerable spots to prevent cricket bettings.
