Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) president G.K. Vasan and BJP State president K. Annamalai said Tamil Nadu’s Agriculture Budget for 2025-26 was “a disappointment for farmers”.

In a statement, Mr. Vasan said the Budget did not include any special measures for the growth of agriculture and allied industries. There was no announcement on a farm loan waiver, which was the expectation of the farmers, he said.

In a post on X, Annamalai said the DMK’s poll promise on Minimum Support Price for paddy and sugarcane had not been fulfilled and that it remained on paper. The DMK government continues to deceive the farmers, he alleged, and dubbed the Agriculture Budget as “nothing more than pile of papers”.
