Nasdaq futures lost 5%, on concern that a cheaper artificial intelligence model from China threatens the dominance of US technology, Bloomberg reported. Nvidia Corp. plunged 12% in US premarket trading, setting it up for the biggest drop on record in terms of market capitalization if the move holds. The volume of Nasdaq 100 futures contracts changing hands was about four times the 30-day average, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. US Stock Market LIVE: Nasdaq 100 futures down 2.6%, S&P 500 futures drop by 1.4%
Nasdaq 100 futures were down 2.6% and S&P 500 futures slipped 1.4% by the European morning, and shares in Nvidia supplier Advantest fell 8.5% in Tokyo, Reuters reported. Frankfurt-listed shares of Nvidia slipped about 7%, while those of Tesla, Amazon and Meta fell more than 2% in early European trading.
