A 10-year-old girl of Gummadiduru village, reportedly drowned in Munneru stream in NTR District on Saturday (October 04).

The victim, who was visiting her relatives for Dasara vacations in Vemulapalli village in Kanchikacherla mandal, went to the stream to wash clothes, where she accidentally slipped into waters and drowned, the locals said.

Police and the villagers, with the help of expert swimmers, are searching for the girl.

Fisherman drowned

In a separate incident, 60-year-old Singothu Nagur, of Puligadda Pallipalem village, died after he fell into a canal while fishing in the waters on Friday. He was a native of Avanigadda mandal in Krishna district.

The Avanigadda police retrieved the body and registered a case.
