Two people were killed after a truck hit a bike in which they were travelling, in the district on Thursday (June 12, 2025).

A. Siva (32), a resident of Reddipatty near Edappadi, was a casual labourer. On Thursday, he, along with his relative S. Sekar (46), of the same locality, headed to Sankagiri by bike. While they reached Konamori Madheswaran Temple, a truck that came behind the bike lost its control after its front tyre burst and hit the bike.

In the accident, the duo sustained grievous injuries and died on the way to the hospital.

The Konganapuram police registered a case and are on the lookout for the truck driver who fled from the spot.
