For 25 underprivileged children from Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Wednesday was anything but ordinary. They experienced their first flight, taking a round-trip between Coimbatore and Chennai. This ‘flight of fantasy’ initiative was organised by Round Table India, Ladies Circle India and GEM Hospital.
Upon landing in Chennai, the children spent the day trip engaged in educational and recreational activities, visiting the BM Birla Planetarium at Periyar Science and Technology Centre, Guindy and exploring aquariums in the city.
“Every child deserves the chance to dream big, and we believe this experience will be a stepping stone for them to believe in a brighter future,” said Varun Anand, Chairman of Madras Metro Round table 95.
The programme takes off every year, selecting an orphanage either from Chennai or Coimbatore and giving children the opportunity to fly and explore the host city.
