Dharmasthala pattadhikari and Rajya Sabha member D. Veerendra Heggade has said one can come out of addiction to alcohol and other vices by undergoing transformation of the mind while medication may be of little help in that regard.

He was speaking at the valedictory function of the 242nd special alcohol de-addiction camp organised by Sri Dharmasthala Deaddiction and Research Centre at Laila in Ujire on Monday.

Everyone knows addiction to alcohol was not good; yet once addicted to it, one could not come out of its clutches. Through transformation of mind by participating in de-addiction camps, one could come out of the addiction, he said.

As many as 73 people participated in the eight-day special camp conducted under the guidance of Akhila Karnataka Jana Jagruthi Vedike regional director Vivek V. Pais. The next camp would commence on March 3.
