As many as 10 cadre of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam were apprehended by the city police as they allegedly were camping at a lodge in Royapettah with a plan to hurl petrol bomb on Naam Tamizhar Katchi leader Seeman’s house in Neelangarai. Police also seized three petrol bombs from them and launched further investigation. 

It may be recalled that TPDK cadres and like-minded outfits attempted to lay siege to the house of Mr. Seeman condemning and protesting his derogatory views on Periyar. Following a tip-off on a few persons planning to indulge in sabotage, police intensified their surveillance across the city and nabbed 10 men who were staying at a lodge in SPS first street, Royapettah. Neelangarai Police arrested them.

They were planning to hurl petrol bombs at Seeman’s house to show their protest against derogatory remarks on Periyar. Police have now enhanced security around his house.
