A toddy worker was killed after being struck by lightning at Aralam farm in Kannur, Kerala, on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Rajeev (54), a resident of Block 1 in the rehabilitation area of Aralam farm.

The incident occurred while he was collecting toddy in Block 1 of the farm. Co-workers who witnessed the strike rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he could not be saved.

His body has been has been shifted to the Kannur Government Medical College Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.

He is survived by his wife, Geeta, and two children.
