The Tiruvottiyur police have arrested two men for allegedly sexually assaulting two sisters, aged 15 and 12, at their house a few days ago. The girls’ mother, who assisted the duo, has also been arrested.

The crime came to light when the girls’ father lodged a police complaint on Monday. He told the police that a few months ago during a religious festival, his wife became acquainted with the two youth. On Friday, the duo had visited the woman’s house and allegedly sexually assaulted her daughters. The woman knew about the sexual assault but did not report it. The police then nabbed Abdul Kalam, 23, and Mohammad Rafiq, 23, on Wednesday. Inquiries confirmed that the girls’ mother was also part of the crime, and she too was arrested.
