There will be no re-entry for DMK, says Tamilisai

“The DMK keeps saying there will be no entry for the BJP in Tamil Nadu. However, there will be no re-entry for the DMK,” former BJP State president and Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan said on Thursday.

The DMK was voted into power by Tamilians, but it failed to support a Tamil candidate for the post of Vice-President. The DMK did not thank the Centre for implementing reforms to the Goods and Services Tax (GST), she said.

Dr. Soundararajan said the construction of AIIMS in Madurai was nearing completion, and the Centre had released over ₹127 crore to Tamil Nadu as the first instalment of the 15th Finance Commission grants to rural local bodies in the State.

The Tamil Nadu government should give rights to rural local bodies by holding elections to these bodies before speaking about States’ rights, she said.

The DMK was in fear after the meeting between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and had no confidence in its alliance, she claimed.
