A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Govindpuri, south Delhi, on Saturday night allegedly by three juveniles over an old enmity stemming from school rivalry, a police officer said on Sunday.
The police have apprehended three juveniles, all aged 16. The incident occurred around 8.30 p.m. on Saturday when the victim reportedly called them to settle past issues. Instead, the meeting turned violent, said the officer.
“One of the accused choked the victim while the other two stabbed him multiple times,” the officer said.
The deceased, a student and a resident of Bhoomiheen Camp in Govindpuri, was first taken to a nearby hospital and later referred to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he died during the treatment, the officer said.
His father is a construction labourer in Kerala, and his mother works as a housemaid in Govindpuri.
A case has been registered at Govindpuri Police Station, police said.
All three accused are residents of Tughlaqabad Extension, Kalkaji.
