Senior TDP leaders criticised YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for encouraging “divisive and disruptive elements” under the guise of offering support during his visit to Tenali on Tuesday.

Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad accused Mr. Jagan Monan Reddy of sympathising with the groups allegedly involved in anti-social activities, while ignoring the plight of victims such as the family of Subramanyam, a driver, who had allegedly been murdered by a YSRCP MLC.

‘Political theatrics’

Ponnur MLA Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar objected to the YSRCP activists standing atop a police vehicle during Mr. Jagan’s visit, and described it as a deliberate attempt to provoke and revive what he termed as ‘Jagan 2.0’, a phase marked by intimidation and political theatrics.

He urged the police to take legal action against those responsible for such acts, stating that such behavior sets a dangerous precedent.

Parchur MLA Yeluri Sambasiva Rao termed Mr. Jagan’s Tenali visit as a ploy to divert attention from the controversies and failures of the YSRCP government between 2019-24. He alleged that Mr. Jagan’s political legacy was riddled with betrayal, corruption, and familial discord, including unresolved allegations related to land, mining, and welfare promises.

Promises fulfilled

In contrast, Mr. Sambasiva Rao said the TDP-led NDA government had fulfilled 70% of its poll promises in the first one year. Key achievements included increase in pension amounts, resumption of Anna Canteens, financial support to fishermen, and road repairs. He emphasised the government’s commitment to inclusive welfare and transparency.

The TDP leaders appealed to the people to remain vigilant against the misinformation campaign, and reaffirmed their commitment to development and good governance under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership.
