Touch Stone Charities, a service organisation affiliated to the Hare Krishna Movement, has received kitchen equipment, worth ₹3 lakh, from PharmaZell Pvt. Ltd. under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds, on Wednesday.

Anant Dattatray Barbadhikar, MD, handed over the kitchen equipment to Nishkrinchan Bhakta Das, president of Touch Stone Charities. Appa Rao, Human Resource Manager, PharmaZell Pvt. Ltd. was present.

Mr. Nishkrinchan Bhakta Das, who is also president of the Hare Krishna Movement said that the upgraded kitchen equipment would enable faster meal preparation and help expand and support the Subhojanam program, thereby providing free meals to more people.

Touch Stone Charities currently serves free meals thrice a day a total of which comes to 1,200 meals daily to patient-and attendants through the Subhojanam centre at King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam. Over the past 14 years, more than 40 lakh meals have been distributed. In 2022, a Subhojanam Centre was started at the Homi Baba Cancer Hospital, Aganampudi, where food is provided to around 500 patient- attendants daily. During the floods and the COVID-19 pandemic, free meals and essential kits were distributed to affected people, according to a statement issued by Yaduraja Das of Hare Krishna Movement.
