Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday unveiled the foundation stone for the construction of a new research and development centre of Eaton, a global Fortune 500 company that specialises in power management solutions, from the Secretariat. Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and Eaton representatives were present on the occasion.
The facility, to be established with an investment of ₹200 crore in Sholinganallur near Chennai, is expected to provide employment for about 500 professionals.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Eaton and the State government during Mr. Stalin’s official visit to the US in September last year.
In another event, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated three projects that have been completed by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority at a cost of ₹39.75 crore.
He also unveiled the foundation stone for 10 projects that are to be implemented at a total cost of ₹70.7 crore. Minister P.K. Sekarbabu and senior officials participated.
