BJP State general secretary P. Rajeev has accused the Congress government in the State of telling lies to the people on its fiscal health through the recent Governor’s speech.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP office in Davangere on Wednesday, Mr. Rajeev said that the credit of pushing the State to the verge of bankruptcy just for the sake of winning elections has gone to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
“Such being the case, the government has made the Governor deliver a speech full of lies terming the economy of the state as strong,” he said.
He said that a State cannot be described as financially strong if it follows the guidelines of fiscal responsibility.
However, the Siddaramaiah government in the State is availing itself of loans even to pay salaries which means that it (government) has gone bankrupt, he said.
Mr. Rajeev said that the State government is caught in a whirlpool of debt and Mr. Siddaramaiah is ruling it through his lies.
“If the situation continues in the same vein, then the State will meet the fate of Arunachal Pradesh. This government will not spare even the hundis of temples to run the government,” he said.
