The city police have seized drugs worth over ₹60.5 lakh and arrested seven persons in four different cases for allegedly peddling drugs.
Acting on a tip-off, the Konanakunte police raided a gang sitting in a car in Doddakallasandra allegedly trying to peddle drugs and arrested two persons – Somashekhar, 34, and Sundar, 28, and seized ₹46.1 lakh worth 3.4 kgs of hashish oil, 1.1 kg of ganja, and a car. The duo bought their supply from a person in Odisha, the police said.
Sleuths from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) raided a parking lot of a playground in Chennammanakere Achukattu, arrested an individual allegedly peddling drugs, and recovered ₹10.5 lakh worth of narcotics, including 55.2 grams of MDMA crystals and 1.9 kg of ganja from him.
In another case, the Devanahalli police arrested two alleged drug peddlers – Mohammed Javed, 22, and Ismail, 20, both from Devanahalli – and seized ₹1.9 lakh worth of items, including 3.5 kg of ganja, a two-wheeler, and two mobile phones.
In yet another case, the Whitefield police arrested two alleged drug peddlers – Dilbur Hussain, 26, and Chowdhury, 25 – and recovered 12.9 kg of ganja worth ₹2 lakh from them.
In another case, sleuths from the CCB raided a godown in Kalasipalya and arrested one person. During the raid, the officials also recovered ₹45 lakh worth of tobacco products which had no health warning.
