Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram conducted a whirlwind tour of the Bhupalpally area in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Friday, on the third day of his ‘Karmika Chaintanya Yatra’ in the State’s coal belt.
He spearheaded the yatra in Bellampalli, Mandamarri and Srirampur areas in the last two days as part of the novel campaign aimed at boosting the morale of the workforce and productivity.
He ventured into several underground coal mines and opencast projects to take stock of the production and safety aspects during his extensive field visit in the coal belt.
During his interaction with the coal miners, he outlined the State-owned SCCL’s ambitious growth plans and its top priority to the safety and welfare of the workforce, vital for boosting productivity. He emphasised the need for concerted efforts to achieve the annual coal production target of 70 million tonnes in the current financial year.
He also unveiled plans to utilize the services of women in the underground coal mines and as EP operators in the opencast mines.
