The South Division police are on the lookout for a city-based rowdy sheeter and his associates who set fire to multiple vehicles belonging to his female friend, allegedly enraged over a break-up.
The accused identified as Rahul, 26, a rowdy sheeter at Hanumanth Nagar police station, wanted in cases of assault, fought with his long-term female friend after she called off their relationship on Saturday night. Rahul accompanied by his friends went to her parent’s house in C. K. Acchukattu area, where he allegedly assaulted her father and set her bike on fire.
The accused later came in search of the victim who was staying in an apartment in Subramanyapura, and fought with the security guard, before setting fire to her car parked in the basement of the apartment. Another car parked adjacent to it was also damaged in the fire, the police said.
The entire act was recorded in the CCTV cameras.
Based on the complaint by the victim, two cases have been registered against Rahul and police are now trying to track him down.
“He doesn’t use mobile phones, so the investigators are yet to trace him,” a senior officer said. “He will be apprehended soon along with other suspects,” he added.
