Review meeting on strict enforcement of Model Code of Conduct for MLC elections held

Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into force with immediate effect in Karimnagar district on Wednesday (January 29) with the announcement of schedule for conduct of elections to the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ Constituency and Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers’ Constituency on February 27.

The term of the members of the two constituencies (MLCs) — T Jeevan Reddy and Kura Raghotham Reddy — is set to expire on March 29.

Collector Pamela Satpathy conducted a meeting with the officials concerned at the Collectorate in Karimnagar on Wednesday evening to ensure strict implementation of the MCC across the district till the completion of the election process as stipulated by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The Collector asked the officials to take immediate steps to ensure removal of the banners, posters and hoardings of political parties from public places and closure of belt shops, if any, in the entire district.
