The results of the Lower Secondary Scholarship (LSS) and the Upper Secondary Scholarship (USS) examinations were announced on Wednesday.

A total of 28.02% of the students were found eligible for the LSS scholarships while 42.55% of the students were found eligible for the USS scholarships, the General Education Department said.

In all, 1,08,421 students appeared for the LSS exam, and 30,380 cleared it. For the USS exam, 38,782 of the 91,151 students who sat for the exam passed.

In all, 1,640 children were found eligible for the Gifted Children Programme.
