Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha demanded that the employees of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) be paid bonus from the gross profit earned by the public sector in 2024-25 fiscal.
Speaking in Srirampur of Mancherial district after participating in Bathukamma celebrations on Tuesday, she alleged that the State government meted out a raw deal to SCCL employees by announcing a mere 34% profit share bonus from the SCCL’s net profits during 2024-25 financial year.
This will entail huge loss to each worker of the SCCL, she alleged. She demanded that the State government clear nearly ₹42,000 crore dues it owed to the SCCL. She accused the Congress government of trying to secure huge loans from a public sector entity and venturing into gold and copper exploration in Karnataka without focusing on opening new coal mines to boost the financial strength of the company.
The future course of action of Telangana Jagruthi will be decided after holding consultations with SCCL workers and all sections of the society, she said in reply to a question.
