Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address three election rallies on three consecutive days, starting from the Sadar Bazar Assembly constituency on January 21 and followed by events at Mustafabad and Madipur.

The Delhi Congress said Mr. Gandhi will discuss the issues affecting the city, why the Kejriwal government and the BJP, in the last 11 years, had failed to address the problems the city has been grappling with, and how the Dalits would get the dues they deserve.

On January 13, he addressed a rally on January 13, but the one scheduled earlier this week was cancelled because he was unwell.

Five promises

The Congress has made five promises ahead of the elections. The agenda includes ₹2,500 per month for women under the Pyari Didi Yojna, ₹25 lakh life-long health insurance for Delhi residents, ₹8,500 stipend a month for the educated, unemployed youth to develop their employment skills for one year, subsidised cooking gas at ₹500, free ration kit and 300 units of free power.

The party made the Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled States announce these schemes with the promise that they would implement those, as they did in States where they had come to power.

The star campaigners of the Congress include Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Sachin Pilot, D.K. Shivakumar, A. Revanth Reddy, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Kanhaiya Kumar.
