Projects worth ₹27.60 crore implemented in five panchayats in Namakkal, says Minister

Adi Dravidar Welfare Minister M. Mathiventhan said that projects worth ₹27.60 crore were implemented in five panchayats coming under the Mallasamudram, Elachipalayam, and Pallipalayam panchayat unions.

On Thursday, the Minister participated in the third phase of the Makkaludan Mudhalvar special camps held at Melmugam and Mangalam panchayats in the Mallasamudram panchayat union, Sathinaickenpalayam in the Elachipalayam panchayat union and Pallakapalayam and Kuppandampalayam in the Pallipalayam panchayat union and received petitions from the public.

At the function, the Minister said the Chief Minister termed the petitions provided by the public as their blood and sweat and it was not paper. The Chief Minister instructed to conduct special camps at the places where poor, marginalised, and Adi Dravidar people were living and to fulfil their demands. The aim of these special camps was to avoid people going to government offices for their grievances. To avoid expenses and save their time, the government offices were coming to the doorsteps of people to provide service. In these five panchayats, the petitions received from people would be addressed, the Minister added.

Explaining the schemes implemented by the Chief Minister after the DMK came to power, the Minister said that through various schemes, projects worth ₹7.07 crore were implemented in Melmugam panchayat from 2021 to 2025, projects worth ₹6.68 crore were implemented in Mangalam panchayat, projects worth ₹6.21 crore were implemented at Sathinaickenpalayam, projects worth ₹4.54 crore were implemented in Pallakapalayam and projects worth ₹3.11 crore were implemented in Kuppandampalayam.

Later, the Minister handed over welfare assistance worth ₹83.93 lakh to 143 beneficiaries. In the function, District Collector S. Uma, Namakkal MP V.S. Matheswaran and officials from government departments participated.
