Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh on Thursday said that he had ordered a probe into the “non-installation of CCTV cameras” by AAP in the eight constituencies represented by the BJP in the previous Assembly.

Addressing the Assembly, Mr. Singh said CCTV cameras will now be installed in these constituencies as a priority. He alleged that the former AAP government had installed “low-quality” CCTV cameras across the city.

Barapullah flyover

The PWD Minister inspected the Barapullah flyover and directed the officials to complete the construction work within four months.

He also inspected a damaged culvert near the Barapullah flyover and alleged that it had been in such a state for two years. “The repair work will begin by April,” he added.

“Due to the previous AAP government’s negligence, the Barapullah project’s cost has doubled. No Delhi minister during the AAP rule had ever visited the site to monitor the progress,” Mr. Singh told The Hindu.

The Minister said he has also asked the officials to begin cleaning sewers and footpaths, expedite the construction of flyovers, and beautify pavements.
