Four months after a senior oncologist was stabbed at the Kalaignar Centenary Super Specialty Hospital (KCSSH), Guindy, a police outpost was set up on the premises on Thursday.
Health Minister Ma. Subramanian inaugurated the J3 Guindy police station outpost.
The KCSSH, which was inaugurated in June 2023, received nearly 2,000 outpatients from various parts of the State in a day. A total of 5,04,113 outpatients and 1,69,888 in-patients have so far availed themselves of services here, he said.
To ensure safety
A demand to set up the police outpost was raised to ensure safety on the hospital’s premises.
It was set up with the support of Rotary Club of Kilpauk and Rotary Club of Madras, and the Police Department.
