Piped water supply in parts of three city zones- 9,10 and 13-will be disrupted between 10 a.m. on March 29 and 10 a.m. on March 30. This is to enable Chennai Metro Rail Limited to carry out interconnection of pipeline at Uthamar Gandhi Salai-Sterling Road, Nungambakkam.

A press release from Chennai Metrowater said operations of water distribution stations, including in Valluvar Kottam and Kilpauk Water Works will be suspended for a day. Areas, including Choolaimedu, Thousand Lights, Teynampet, Gopalapuram, Kodambakkam, K.K.Nagar, parts of T.Nagar, Kodambakkam and Saidapet will not receive piped water supply for 24 hours.

The water agency has requested residents to store water in advance and book tanker water online through ‘Dial for water’ service for immediate needs. However, street supply would be maintained in these zones.
