Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urged all political parties, including the Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League, to unite against what he termed the Centre’s continued neglect towards the State.
He was speaking at a public rally held as part of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Kannur district conference, which concluded at Taliparamba on Monday (February 3).
Mr. Vijayan accused the Union government of deliberately withholding Kerala’s rightful share of funds and development projects. “Kerala is not begging for mercy. As a State in the country, it should receive what it rightfully deserves,” he said.

Chief Minister criticised the Centre for failing to sanction an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for Kerala despite multiple assurances and for overlooking the State’s demand in the latest Budget. He also highlighted the lack of Central assistance for the Vizhinjam port project, which he claimed would generate significant revenue for the country.
