Rajinder Chaudhry, Additional Director General (ADG) of Press Information Bureau (PIB), Vijayawada, advised the budding media personnel and students of journalism to explore and participate in the online challenges conducted as part of the WAVES 2025 event, to equip themselves with new skills.

At a media workshop conducted for journalism students of Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) here on Thursday, he focussed on the role of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) tools in modern media, the growing significance of digital platforms, and the potential in the media and entertainment sectors.

Highlighting the Union government’s welfare and development programmes, he explained how PIB was taking efforts to reach the people at the grassroots. SPMVV dean of Social Sciences Chalasani Vani, professors Kiran Prasad (Journalism) and Sita Kumari (Law) explained the need for collaboration between academic institutions and media organisations. District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) K. Balakondaiah asked the students to prepare for the rapidly changing media environment.
