A 38-year-old pharmacist of the community health centre in Sankeshwar died in a road accident in Bacchanakeri village near Kittur in Belagavi district on Sunday.

Sridevi Tenginkai of Kalghatgi in Dharwad district died on the spot when her car fell into a gorge by the side of the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway. Her 45-year-old husband Eshwar Tenginkai suffered some injuries.

The couple were travelling to Kalghatgi from Sankeshwar, the police said.

A case has been registered.
