Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh reaffirmed his commitment to fast-tracking all special promises made to the Mangalagiri constituency, as he handed over permanent house site pattas to 600 poor families from Ratnalacheruvu under the “Mana Illu – Mana Lokesh” initiative on Friday (April 11).

Addressing a gathering at Don Bosco School grounds, Lokesh paid homage to social reformer Jyotirao Phule on his birth anniversary and highlighted the transformation underway in Mangalagiri. “Each decision shapes our lives. Though I lost by 5,300 votes in 2019, the pain of defeat turned into purpose. Even while in the Opposition, I launched 26 welfare programs for Mangalagiri’s people,” he said.

He outlined several key upcoming developments, including the laying of foundation stone for a long-pending 100-bed government hospital on April 13 and a world-class school under the LEAP (Learning Excellence in Andhra Pradesh) programme. “We’re turning dreams into assets. This is just the beginning,” Mr. Lokesh added.

The Legislator from Mangalagiri stated that over 3,200 families in the constituency would receive free house site pattas in the first phase, with the numbers growing each day. He assured that land issues related to Endowment, Railway, Forest, and canal areas were being resolved to ensure permanent ownership for long-term residents.

Many residents, overwhelmed with joy, shared their gratitude. Bandaru Rajyalakshmi and Subbarao, who have lived in Ratnalacheruvu for over 40 years, said, “Our father bought a small plot for ₹150 four decades ago. Until now, we had no legal right over it. Lokesh has changed that without taking a single rupee.”

Another beneficiary, Itikala Peddintlamma, a daily wage worker, expressed emotional thanks: “No government ever gave us patta. Lokesh garu fulfilled a 45-year-old dream. This is a new beginning for us.”

With a decisive 91,000-vote mandate in the 2024 elections, Mr. Lokesh affirmed that every promise made to Mangalagiri would be executed on a war footing, marking a new era of inclusive development.
