In two separate incidents, over sixty sheep were killed in a lightning strike and a stray dog attack in Annamayya and Chittoor districts. At Bonasuvaripalli in Tamballapalle mandal of Annamayya district, 42 sheep of a farmer were killed on the spot when lightning struck them on Saturday (August 9) night. The farmer said he incurred a loss of over ₹5 lakh. At Kanduru village of Somala mandal in Chittoor district, over 20 sheep, belonging to Chinnappa, were killed by a pack of stray dogs in the early hours of Sunday. Ten more sheep were injured. Sheep farmers in Somala mandal expressed anger at the growing menace of stray dog attack in the region.
