Delhi University (DU) has received 12,210 registrations for its on-the-spot mop-up round to fill 7,500 vacant undergraduate seats, officials said on Tuesday.

This year, DU has conducted five rounds till date. This round, like the previous mop-up round held earlier this month, is being conducted based on board results instead of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Candidates have already been sent invitations from the university, specifying a date and time at which they are expected to be present.

Haneet Gandhi, Dean of Admissions, said, “We have received 12,210 registrations for the vacant seats, and we have sent them [candidates] e-mails calling them to the university, programme-wise.”

Earlier, the university also stated that candidates would be allowed to participate in the mop-up round, provided they received an invitation letter and presented themselves. Allocations once offered will be final, according to a notification from the registrar’s office.
