Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday (May 20, 2025) said Indian forces carried out Operation Sindoor like a skilled surgeon, exercising full care to attack only the terror hubs present in Pakistan. “The discipline and training of both surgeons and soldiers are very strict. Both have to take big decisions in very delicate situations. In Operation Sindoor, full care was taken to attack only the targets of terrorism present in Pakistan and their civilian population was kept away from it. Indian forces have performed the operation like a skilled surgeon. Just like a skilled surgeon uses his instruments where the root of the disease is present, Indian forces have also used their weapons on the roots of terrorism with great precision,” Mr. Singh said at the Silver Jubilee ceremony of K.N. Singh Memorial Hospital in Lucknow. 

The Defence Minister said the Indian forces brought the Pakistani Army to its knees in retaliatory action, when the adversary tried to launch an attack on Indian soil. “But as is Pakistan’s habit, it does not give up easily. It started trying to attack Indian soil, attempts were made to target civilians. Temples, gurdwaras and churches were targeted. The response by the Indian forces has brought Pakistan’s Army to its knees,” said Mr. Singh.

80 medical colleges

Praising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for rapid development, Mr. Singh, who is representing Lucknow in the Lok Sabha, said that in Uttar Pradesh, 80 medical colleges were functional, of which 44 were from the government sector while the rest were run by the private sector. “Our State medical sector is an incredible example of public-private partnership. The double engine government of the BJP is fully committed to the common people. I assure you all that under the leadership of the Prime Minister at the Centre and Yogi Ji in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP government will continue to make best possible efforts for the overall development in every aspect,” he stressed. 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hit out at Pakistan, alleging that the rogue country crossed all limits of audacity. He said Pakistan’s terror face had been fully exposed to the world and now it struggled for existence after India’s brave and powerful response.
