An unidentified male worker was killed and another worker P. Palpandi, 31, suffered burn injuries in a fire accident reported at Neerathilingam Fireworks unit at Anaiyur in Sivakasi on Wednesday evening. Palpandi, who has sustained 20% burn injuries, has been admitted to Government Hospital in Sivakasi.

Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Sivakasi who rushed to the spot have put out the flames.

Cause of the fire was under investigation by Maraneri police.
