A gang of nine was nabbed in a murder case by Cherlapally police of Rachakonda on Saturday.
The accused, all labourers employed at Mahalaxmi Plastic Company and Omega Plastic Company in Cherlapally, include Lukhiram Tudu, 27, Rasilal Soren, 28, Abhilash Baski, 33, Utam Hansda, 22, Kosalender Soren, 26, Sikinder Marandi, 24, Sikinder Murmu, 18, Sandip Murmu, 26, and Gulab Murmu, 27. Most of them are natives of Dumka district in Jharkhand, with one from Jamtara district.
The deceased, Babushal Tudu, migrated to Hyderabad for work and was a colleague of the nine accused, sharing accommodation provided by the company, said the police.
“During their leisure time, they would consume alcohol together. Over time, tensions arose between the others and Babushal, who often displayed domineering behaviour and allegedly threatened them. These threats led to growing resentment among the accused, culminating in a plan to kill him,” police said.
As per their plan, the group got him drunk and took him to an isolated place in IDA Cherlapally and murdered him. They also tried to conceal the evidence.
The gang was arrested and sent for judicial remand.
