Phanithi Prakash Babu assumed charge as the Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University on Monday (March 17, 2025).

Prof. Babu had been appointed to the helm of the Central University by the President on March 6 in her capacity as Visitor and in exercise of her authority under Statute 1(A) of the Pondicherry University Act, 1985.

The Vice-Chancellor later made a courtesy call on Chief Minister N. Rangasamy at the Legislative Assembly and later addressed all the Deans and the Heads of Departments at the University campus.
