The Vyasarpadi Police in Chennai on Wednesday foiled a murder plot by arresting seven persons of gang who planned to murder another person from a rival gang.
According to police, there was previous enmity between Ramesh, brother of gangster Nagendran and Mohandoss. Based on a tip-off that both of them had planned to murder each other and a group of persons had ganged up with heavy weapons at Nagendran’s house in SM Nagar, the Vyasarpadi police reached the spot on Wednesday morning.
On seeing the police, Thamizharasan, nephew of Nagendran, attempted to escape. He also allegedly attempted to attack a Sub Inspector of Police with a weapon. The police team arrested him and six others who were hiding with weapons in the house. The other arrested persons were identified as Murugan, Ramesh, Thamizh Azhagan, Dhanush, Sukumar and Kishore.
The police also recovered 51 weapons from Nagendran’s house and some documents from his son Aswathaman’s house. Both of them were allegedly involved in the murder of BSP leader K. Armstrong, last year.
