Minister Seethakka praises SHG members for making Stree Nidhi a role model in country

Minister D. Anasuya (Seethakka) announced that the Panchayat Raj Commissioner’s office at Himayatnagar will be allocated to the Stree Nidhi Nidhi Credit Cooperative Federation Ltd to use as its head office, fulfilling a promise made during the last general meeting. The building will undergo necessary changes to become functional soon, she said, addressing the 12th general body meeting of ‘Stree Nidhi Credit Cooperative Federation Ltd’ here on Wednesday.

She also revealed plans to appoint additional staff and set up food processing units in collaboration with the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). Since its inception, the Stree Nidhi Credit Cooperative Federation Ltd has disbursed loans worth ₹20,000 crore to over 31 lakh members of 4.37 self-help groups (SHGs).

In the financial year 2023-24, Stree Nidhi earned a net profit of ₹147.98 crore and approved a 14% dividend payment to mandal and town federations – as well as the State government.

SREP CEO D. Divya urged the members of the SHGs to help poor women in emergency situations and across various sectors.

Managing Director G. Vidyasagar Reddy, directors and others attended the meeting.
