Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner Ashwani Kumar presented a budget estimate of ₹17,666 crore for 2025-26 during a special Budget Session of the MCD House on Thursday.
The revised budget estimate for 2024-25 was also tabled for discussion before final approval.
While addressing the House, Mr Kumar said the civic body is managing the disposal of 6,000 tonnes of construction waste daily. The MCD has also removed 105 illegal dumping sites, while a “tree ambulance” initiative was launched for tree maintenance, and 222 diseased trees have been treated so far, he added.
The commissioner said hundreds of workers were regularised last year.
Regarding revenue, property tax collection for 2024-25 stood at Rs 1,908.06 crore as of January 2025, reflecting an 11.3% increase from the previous year but still short of the ₹4,300 crore target.
Mr. Kumar said the parking revenue has also seen steady growth, reaching ₹145.35 crore by January 28, 2025.
