A woman, who allegedly conspired with her lover to kill her husband, was arrested by the Medchal police on Wednesday (February 12, 2025). The accused were identified as 28-year-old Nunavath Lalitha and 32-year-old Rallapeta Narasimha, both residents of Kindi Basti in Medchal.
The incident came to light after 26-year-old Nunavath Ramesh was found dead in an open yard beside the water plant in Kindi Basti on the morning of February 10. His father, Nunavath Pool Singh, lodged a complaint, suspecting his daughter-in-law’s involvement due to ongoing marital disputes. The couple had four children.
Investigations revealed that Ramesh’s wife Lalitha had developed a relationship with Narasimha, who lost his wife about three years ago. Ramesh became aware of this and allegedly subjected his wife to physical abuse. Unable to continue her relationship freely, Lalitha and Narasimha plotted to kill him.
On the night of February 9, while Ramesh was asleep after consuming alcohol, Lalitha called Narasimha to execute their plan. At around 11 p.m., they strangled Ramesh and later dumped the body in an open plot. The next morning, in an attempt to conceal the truth and mislead the investigation, she called her son Rajender and informed that Ramesh’s was found dead in an open plot.
Special teams were formed who analysed CCTV camera footage from the vicinity to track down the accused. Their mobile phones were seized as evidence.
