A 48-year-old man was grievously injured after being attacked by a cow in Adyar on Tuesday night.

According to the police, on Tuesday night, Sivakumar tried to chase away two cows that were fighting outside his house at Indira Nagar 13th Cross Street. However, one of them retaliated, leaving him severely injured.

After being administered first-aid at a nearby private hospital, he was shifted to the emergency ward of Stanley Government Hospital.

The police are searching for the owner of the stray cattle.

An official of the Greater Chennai Corporation’s (GCC) Public Health Department said a cattle raid was conducted in Adyar Zone on Wednesday. “Such incidents will reduce once sheds for cattle are constructed as approved by the GCC Council,” he said.
