Meenambakkam Police has arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly assaulting a sub-inspector who went to intervene in a dispute. 

According to police, Bharathan, sub-inspector who was in- charge of patrolling vehicle received information that a person was indulging in a ruckus and refusing to pay after taking food at an eatery near Meenambakkam Signal. Following information, he reached the spot and questioned the troublemaker. The SI asked him to pay the eatery and leave the place without causing any nuisance. Though the man agreed at that moment, a few minutes later, he followed the SI and assaulted him using a wooden log. He escaped from the spot after threatening him. 

The SI who was injured got treatment at Government Hospital, Chromepet. Based on his complaint, police arrested the suspect who has been identified as R.Manikandan, 26 of Meenambakkam, who is a history sheeter.
